The Heartstart Course
The Heartstart course was developed by the British Heart Foundation in collaboration with a number of other voluntary and statutory bodies to provide a simple course in emergency first aid skills which could be taught by trained lay-people to other lay-people.
The course takes 2 hours to deliver in full and is taught through audiovisual materials, interactive discussion and practice of the techniques under the supervision of qualified instructors. The course can be completed in full by anyone over the age of 10, though we can adapt the course to suit younger students as required.

- Opening the airway
- Checking for normal breathing

- Immediate action in the event of serious bleeding
